Moderate amounts of sunlight are good for us, but excessive exposure can have serious consequences. Sunburn should be taken seriously as a warning sign. Some studies suggest that sunscreen use can be harmful if people spend more time in the sun because they feel protected.
Directions In addition to sunscreen, other ways to minimize UV exposure include wearing wide-brimmed hats, long sleeved shirts and long pants, and sunglasses that block UV rays. Staying in the shade and avoiding the sun when its rays are strongest (a couple of hours either side of midday) are also recommended. |
